Staff
Mr. James Small is a Certified Public Accountant in New Mexico and Ohio, and a Certified Valuation Analyst, as well as the Founder and President of Sage Accounting.
Educated at Wright State University and Bowling Green State University, Mr. Small has big five, regional, and local firm experience and was Director of Tax Policy for the FDIC from 1991 to 1997.
Mr. Small specializes in Tax Planning and Compliance, Business Valuations, and Litigation Support.
 
Rachel Kefauver is a graduate of New Mexico State University and a Certified Public Accountant in New Mexico, as well as a Vice-president of Sage Accounting.
She has been a Board Member for the Make A Wish Foundation for six years, and was the Financial Accounting Manager for a $750 million company, prior to joining Sage Accounting.
Ms. Kefauver has both regional and local CPA firm experience and specializes in Retail, Construction, and Bankruptcy-related Accounting.
 
Monica Chavez is a New Mexico native, born and raised in Albuquerque.  She received her bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance in 2006 and has more than thirteen years accounting experience.
 
Wanda Easley-Small is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Business Women’s Association.
Ms. Easley-Small received her certification in Human Resource Management from University of New Mexico’s Robert O. Anderson School of Business. She also has human resource and regional sales and promotion experience with a major U.S. airline company.
Ms. Easley-Small works in all areas of human resources support, including:
    •    Employee Relations
    •    Management Training tailored for the needs of individual companies
    •    Mediating Employee Disputes
    •    Serving as a Federal and State compliance resource
    •    Design or Review of Employee Handbook and New Hire Orientation
 
 
Samantha Zills is a graduate of National American University.  Her experience consists of five years in the financial institution industry, and four years in property management.
In 2004, Samantha was awarded with an AICPA Minority Scholarship.  She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from National American University.
 
Jessica Franco received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting from the Robert O. Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico.
She served four years in the United States Air Force and many years in construction accounting before joining Sage Accounting in 2007.
 
Gwendolyn Berg received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern State University (Aberdeen, SD).  She has over 15 years of accounting experience.  Prior to joining Sage Accounting, she worked in the insurance and car retail industries.
